APC Convention, Solution or Confussion?

The Yobe State Governor His Excellency Mai Male Buni is the acting National Chairman, Caretaker and Convention Planning Committee of the ruling party in Nigeria APC. In an exclusive interview which was made available to Touchl light, he assured APC supporters that his committee has been working hard to ensure that the planned convention slated for 26th March, 2022 hold.

The first ever Tedx event in Yobe State

on 12th March, 2022 history was made as a team of young intellectuals from Yobe independently organized Tedx event tagged #TedxPompomari with the theme #ForgeAhead. The event featured young but dynamic speakers that spoke on variety of topics ranging from Philanthropy, Women right, Social Justice, Entrepreneurship, disability and many more.....

Turbaning of District Heads in Tikau Emirate

Tikau Emirate council is one of the twelve Emirates in Yobe amongst which are; Fika Emirate, Bade Emirate, Damaturu Emirate, Gujba Emirate, Pataskum Emirate, Fune Emirate, Nguru Emirate, Jajere Emirate, Gudi Emirate, Ngelzarma Emirate respectively. On 5th March, 2022 the Emir of Tikau Alhaji Muhammad Ibn Grema turbaned six district heads; Sabon Garin Nangere district ....... Watinani district, Chukuriwa district, Kukuri district Chalimno district ....

A small State with many beautiful cultural displays

Yobe State was carved out from old Borno State on 27th August, 1991 by the then Military regime headed by General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida [Gen IBB]. The State has a total population of.... and covers..... Square kilometres with vast arable land. Yobe has 17 local Governments thus; Bade, Bursari, Damaturu, Fune, Fika, Gujba, Gulani, Geidam, Jakusko, Karasuwa, Machina, Nguru, Nangere, Potiskum, Tarmuwa, Yunusari, Yusufara. Yobe has one hundred and seventy eight political wards and many villages. The major tribes are Kanuri, Fulani, Ngizim, Bolewa, Badawa, Ngamo, Babur and Hausa. There are other minority tribes each with its unique cultural practices. Islam is the predominant religion in Yobe. In an attempt to document cultural events in Yobe, one would be confused as to which one comes first. Is it Machina annual cultural horse riding/display? Barakau? Bade fishing festival? Kukuri horse racing or Jajiberi in Tarmuwa?
